— Bio

Born and raised in Michigan, I grew up around water and being inspired by the wonders of nature. As a young adult, I often drew and painted my natural surroundings. This theme continues throughout my work to this day. My creative process has always been tied to my ability to draw what I see, to render my subjects in my own hand. When approaching a new project, I visualize my hand actually drawing or painting a section of the image. This experience is almost dreamlike for me. My intension is to create an image that visually satisfies and engages the imagination!

I’ve worn many hats throughout my art career. I studied at the University of Michigan: Stamps School of Art & Design and went on to work as a technical illustrator at Ford Motor Co. For the last 20 years, l’ve been a working commercial artist represented by Courtney Davis Inc. and Gango Editions. I have been focused on my fine art work in recent years. I have been involved with Clark County Open Studios. I’m currently showing at Aurora Gallery, Bay Avenue Gallery, RiverSea Gallery and Bold Gallery & Coffee in Washington state.

Now my work is hanging in Marie Powell Gallery at 177 Howerton Ilwaco, WA 98624 at the Ilwaco Marina Dockside. Oil paintings and Linoleum Block prints are available. See map below.
